A detached Victorian villa with a conservatory that needs refurbishment. Some glazing bars will need replacing, plus some parts of the structure, including skylights. Much glazing work, followed by a full paint-job to high standards. I am looking for a high-quality job that will last the test of time. Hope to get the whole thing completed in 2019. If necessary, I will consider a scaffold and canopy over the top so as to keep the whole thing dry while work proceeds.
I have a ceiling are of around 20m2 by 10m2 that I have noticed an increased level of domestic noise from the neighbours above (e.g. footfall, objects dropping g, conversation etc.) Our building is an 1800 stone tenement structure with the usual plasterboard ceilings. I'm looking to insulate/sound proof or at least provide dampening against the noise transfer through my roof cavety. I'm unaware of the current insulation in place though would suspect minimal. I would also seek advise on the most effect solution for my problem whether it be intrusive (remove ceiling) or superficial (beneath the ceiling) or both.
We are in the process of buying a small 2 bed cottage and are need of work carrying out, please see below.
We have had a damp and timber report done on a house we are buying and following that our mortgage lenders have insisted that we get some damp proofing and timber treatment work done. We plan to have the work done between exchange and completion but need to have everything done before the end of the first week in January.
below is a list of work required:
*Remove the damp plaster on the ground level to 1M high from the floor (this can be done by ourselves prior to the work being done)
*Take off the base of the external render and fit a bell cast.
*Install chemical damp proof course.
*Apply tanking to 150mm high above external path level.
*Re-plaster - Some of the walls are going to be taken down so will not need plastering.
*Replace approx 2sq mtr of floorboards and treat the whole of the timbers with the appropriate insectirside including the roof.
*Overlay the ground floor with Ardex DPM damp proof coating.
We have a budget for this work as I'm sure you will understand as this was not expected when we first decided to buy the house.
Poor reception with ext aerial on freeview pixelation no signal etc Using a distribution amp with 8 outputs Tried existing loft aerial but either aerials give only one led on signal finder Ext aerial is around 30 years old and I would expect a better signal with a new aerial
Convert existing dwelling into a compliant HMO.

I am in the process of moving into the new property and the wiring for a satellite dish has already been undertaken but no satellite dish or TV aerials. So would need a satellite dish to accommodate TV in 2 bedrooms and 1 lounge. I won't have access to keys to the property until 30th of November.

Semi detached house, - party wall appox 7 m long x 3 m high, - music and shouting can clearly be heard in our living room coming from next door but also talking and doors being shut etc, We want the nuisance of talking etc eliminated completely and the nuiseace of music reduced as much as possible. The upstairs has the same dimensions and although the noise is less than downstairs, soundproofing may also be required.
