Window fitter / Conservatory installer

Micheal came out to quote me for my job I can’t begin to say how helpful, friendly and genuine his service was. He even sketched out to explain how my sash windows I want replacing are fitted. I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to go though everything. It’s so refreshing to meet someone who is truly passionate about what they do.

I can’t speak highly enough about the service we received. The job was to install a new lintel over an existing window. We have been let down by a number of builders, but Michael, turned up quickly to quote us and completed the job within a couple of days. When they had finished the job and you looked at the quality of the work, it was exceptional; apart from the wet mortar, you could honestly not see a difference in the whole brickwork. The area was spotlessly clean and we will definitely use them again.

Michael (AMS Construction) completed my job to add a window (light) panel to the top of a living room wall with ease and speed. Michael&his son were friendly, professional&did an amazing job, I'm made up! It looks even better than I imagined&wish I'd done it earlier! It was a bit of a random, awkward job request but Michael explained everything throughly&was quick to complete the job (about a day and a half) but really did a great job&even cleaned up the whole area after too - great workmanship, thank you!

Painter and decorator

Michael is a “doer” he does not hang about and he gets things done. If you ask for extra items you only have to blink and they are done no moaning or messing about or starting other jobs elsewhere. Recommended.

Looking at a loft extension for a 50/60s bungalow - the beams which will support the floor are only 4" thick. Can we add an extra 2" piece on top of these to make them stronger -or is 4" ok?

Chrisitne no this would not be passed you really need to up these timbers to 175x47 c16 at least to be acceptable depending on your spanning areas . steel support beams will need to be inserted then the new beams layed into them unless your engineer has put a design forward for your calculations for weights and stress, points as part of building regs/ plans thanks Michael

I found a roofer through Rated People in November 2011. They did a good job and gave a 10 year warranty for the work around the chimney stack and a 20 year warranty for the rubber roof work. Earlier this month, the roof started to leak again, but my roofers aren't in business any more. I'm guessing that their warranty is now void and I'll just have to start from scratch with a new roofer. I just thought I'd ask in here to see if there's anything I can do rather than be charged for repairs again. Cheers Chris

check weather they are insurance backed and if so did they register your job you should have had some paperwork if they are indeed insuranced back that means when your contractor completes he then pays a fee to register your job then sends you a copy with all details on which you will sign so your warranty will be on guaranteeif this is case you will be covered by his insurers thanks michael
