Window fitter / Conservatory installer

Work could not be better. Job was more complicated than first thought and took extra time and thought. Refused extra payment when offered. Highly recommend. Lost one star as I had to chase a bit to get original quote. Will certainly use again

Amazing work done and they were so kind and understanding. They were also flexible on the payment date, which was a huge relief. Thank you so much for an amazing job and for giving us peace of mind again. I can't recommend you enough!

Turned up to look at the problem, gave a price which i was happy about & even better (because of door locking problem) could start next day. Turned up on time & set to work straight away. Kept be visibly and verbally informed at all steps along the way & even took photos & video evidence of the previous poor workmanship that had caused my problems. Left on an occasion to get materials but cleaned up before leaving and returned promptly. Stayed late (8:30 pm) to get the job finished. Would highly recommend.

Looking at a loft extension for a 50/60s bungalow - the beams which will support the floor are only 4" thick. Can we add an extra 2" piece on top of these to make them stronger -or is 4" ok?

Chrisitne no this would not be passed you really need to up these timbers to 175x47 c16 at least to be acceptable depending on your spanning areas . steel support beams will need to be inserted then the new beams layed into them unless your engineer has put a design forward for your calculations for weights and stress, points as part of building regs/ plans thanks Michael

I found a roofer through Rated People in November 2011. They did a good job and gave a 10 year warranty for the work around the chimney stack and a 20 year warranty for the rubber roof work. Earlier this month, the roof started to leak again, but my roofers aren't in business any more. I'm guessing that their warranty is now void and I'll just have to start from scratch with a new roofer. I just thought I'd ask in here to see if there's anything I can do rather than be charged for repairs again. Cheers Chris

check weather they are insurance backed and if so did they register your job you should have had some paperwork if they are indeed insuranced back that means when your contractor completes he then pays a fee to register your job then sends you a copy with all details on which you will sign so your warranty will be on guaranteeif this is case you will be covered by his insurers thanks michael
