Craig turned up when he said he would and in two days transformed our garden. Craig and his helpers worked tirelessly and took all the garden refuge away and my wife & I are delighted with the end result. I highly recommend Craigmore Gardens. Sean Spence, Ilkley, West Yorkshire.

Very happy with overall job. The work carried was underpriced by Craig and the overall costs were almost twice as expensive as the original quote BUT there was no questioning Karl's work rate often staying all hours to complete the project. Pricing issues aside, these boys often went beyond our expectations to resolve our situation and I would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Craigmore Gardens answered questions about Bricklayer in Whitley Bay

's question
Sun 26 Mar 2017 14:32pm

The front brick wall between me and my neighbour has collapsed due to a self seeded buddleia which has broken through. I have had the tree taken down as far possible without the wall collapsing. unfortunately my neighbour has had the bricks taken away. The wall is approximately 40years old and is 5/6 metres long and about 1.5 metres high. Although the wall belongs to her we have agreed to pay for the restoration/replacement if necessary-.

It sounds like you need the whole wall taking down and any roots from that Buddleia completely removing. New footings will have to be dug to ensure the strength of the new wall. As for the bricks, they can be matched with what you have left from a reclamation supplier or the other alternative is to get new bricks that blend with the originals. Its a case of being able to source and availability. Post the job on Rated People and get a few quotes.

Your website stated repair cost for a garden wall 10 to 20 meter long , under 1.5 meter high can cost between Low GBP300.00 to High GBP600.00. is this price per meter or for the whole wall and does it include materials or is this labor only? I have a double brick wall which is around 16 meters in length and less than 1 meter in height. Can you please let me know how much it should cost to remove and rebuild the wall.

  • Craig Houchen's Answer

There are so many variables ,ie does the wall need new foundations , what type of brick do you want , is the wall retaining etc. With this type of job its hard to estimate a cost without a professional looking at it. The best thing to do is put the job on rated people for a low estimate then get the three quotes from the professionals.
