Dave was very polite, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and he just got on with the job, this was not a straightforward job and was a big commercial project which Dave joined us toward the end to help complete it it time and he was able to carry out all different aspects of joinery and was even happy to move some furniture to our other site and collect materials. Dave always turned up on time and didn’t let me down so i will use Dave again and be happy to recommend him

Dave did a fantastic job replacing all my doors, frames and skirting and well as laying flooring and boxing in under the stairs. The result was of very high quality and all was completed in a short time frame. Dave was well organised, always on time and constantly communicated with me on their progress and what would happen next. The work was also quoated correct and came in as quoated. Would highly recommend and I will be using Dave again for any future work.

Handyman

Dave arrived to quote, didnt take much in the way of information and was more concerned about leaving due to parking illegally for some reason. I asked if he was interested to quote, he said yes, then emailed a few days later, to say he had another project so was interested in the project. Waste of time.

Builder

We had a long standing problem with water coming into the house around the chimney and roof. We had already had a number of builders 'fix' the problem with nobody getting anywhere; if anything the situation got worse. Dave realized that there was no quick fix and took down the chimney to the roof line, rebuilt it and put in new lead flashings. He turned up each day when he said he would, did a full days work with his mate and showed us each day what he had done. A truly exceptional builder.

This sounds like you have a damaged flue or missing mortar from brickwork in chimney, problem is nextdoor neighbour needs to sort his flue out also.If its an open fire then you need a thermocrete lining or if a logburner then a flexible liner with vermiculite back fill will sort it out.Because you have one brick thick deviding your chimney it can be a common problem but both houses need to address it.Average cost for thermocrete is £1500 per chimney, flexible liners are a bit cheaper.Need to have smoke test and get a HETAS approved installer to do work check on HETAS web site

I am looking to have a multi fuel stove installed in my living room fireplace (Victorian terraced house) and was wondering where/under what category I would post the job on ratedpeople!

Hi try chimney/general builder section look for someone who is HETAS approved for solid fuel installations, you will need building work first to open up existing fireplace and then the liner etc down flue to be fitted and connected to logburner.
