Carpenter / Joiner

Really lovely job - building a bespoke bookcase, creating a kitchen/dining room hatch and framing a bedroom wallpaper panel. Very thorough job, well-constructed and also incredibly pragmatic and so helpful. Reasonable rates - not greedy. You can totally see where you’re money has gone. Worked extremely hard and efficiently. Will definitely be calling on Gary again in the future and am thrilled to have found him. Plus a pleasure to have in your home!

Gary and his colleague kindly called to come earlier than agreed. They've removed the loose tiles and refitted them using lead sheet sealant. They've cleaned up the roof afterwards. Many thanks for the quick and good job. Definitely will work with them again.

I haven't had the job done yet. Due to demand and VAT going up we could not get a delivery before Xmas so will now have to wait till January 20th for a delivery so by February 2011 I should be in a better position to rate the job done.

Dominic Bates's question

The grouting above the first row of tiles around my bath is cracked and at risk of letting in water. It's because the tiles sit on the edge of the bath, which flexes ever so slightly when you use it. I've made remedial repairs to the grouting every six months or so, working fresh grout into the cracks. But over time, the cracks reappear. What I'd like to know is, is it possible to fix the grouting more permanently? Does all the grout need to be chiselled out and fresh grout added from the plaster board? Or is there some kind of large, flexible bath border (at least 10cm high) that I can put over the top of that row of tiles to cover the cracked grouting and flexes with the bath? I guess what I'm trying to avoid is a costly complete retiling of the bathroom if possible! Thank you for your thoughts.
