Floor fitters

Simon and his team came early on the agreed date and started promptly, they were able to finish the whole job in one day which was fantastic for us (48sqm inc. all the beading and trimming the doors, etc). I was extremely pleased with the quality of work, and they did everything exactly to our requests. We had to do some minimal clearing up and hoovering afterwards. Would definitely recommend!

Floor fitters

Initially quoted to lift a badly laid floor and relay. Simon turned up on the agreed start date and informed us it wouldn't actually be possible to remove the floor from the sticky underlay without damaging the boards, but has come up with a solution. I took Simon's advise and they promptly cut away certain areas around the edge for better expansion, and just like that, the main problem was solved! There is no doubt Simon is an expert when it comes to flooring.

Floor fitters

GnG laid our wooden floor throughout the downstairs of our house and it looks amazing! They talked us through different options due to the uneven floor and we were very pleased with their suggestions. They only got 4stars for cleanliness as they didn't cover anything and left us to tidy at the end...not a problem to us but would have been lovely if we didn't have to do it :) thanks for all your help.

Carpenter / Joiner

Simon was excellent! He gave expert advice and provided a variety of floor samples. We went for our own sourced floor boards in the end, purely down to colour, but used GNG for everything else and it was very reasonably priced. Arrived promptly on the organised day and was exceptional quick with superb results. Very professional and polite, easy to get hold of and seems genuinely engaged with what he does. Overall - I would highly recommend him! I will definitley be using him for any future work!

I am about to lay a quickstep laminate floor, 8mm thick. The subfloor is quarry tiles on top of a suspended floor (floorboards as above a cellar room). Most would suggest screeding the floor but due to time constraints this won't be possible. There is a dip across the middle of the subfloor up to 10mm in places. I have been advised to use a 5mm fibreboard to get rid of as much of the dip as possible which i have purchased ready to use. I had also already purchased some 5mm underlay boards (very light polystyrene material) before i was advised to use the fibreboard. Is it worth putting these on top of the fibreboard to further level the floor? Or will they make it too springy? The previous laminate was on top of a very thin underlay, probably 2 or 3mm and there was only the odd place that had a slight dip/damage and the floor looked like it had been down for many years.

Hi if you have dips in areas causing a low , you need to self level them or use some kind of firm substance if you use underlay that thickness adds up to more than 6mm Max then you will cause bounce and put pressure on the board joints which could lead to them breaking . I hope this helps you Regards simon
