Hi Orla, Is the leak coming from the water tap that’s attached to the hose that you use to top the pressure up occasionally? If so, then you can try and tighten the screw and see if that helps. If not then normally a new valve is required I’m afraid. Not much help I know but hope you get it sorted.

I soon will be getting a quote to have my old boiler, immersion tank and water tank removed and have them replaced by a combi boiler. I was hoping to find out roughly how much this will cost. I am thinking about £800 for the boiler, but I have no idea how much new plumbing is required or how much it would cost. Am I looking at about another £1000? Or more? I just would like to avoid a shock when I get the quote. Many thanks

To carry out a job like this can vary a lot. Depending on a lot of things ie boiler position and where in the country you are. I’m on the south coast and to carry out a conversion like you’ve described I normally charge between .......which must be a very fair price as I’m constantly busy. Hope this helps
