Rat chewed into main cable at fuse box how can I get quotes for this ,also do not understand why some wall sockets work ,others don't

It's hard to quote on what your saying, depends on where the cut is and what cable it is Sockets: could be a cables dropped out so it's not a continuous circuit. So only a certain amount of sockets will Work up to that point of where the cables dropped out Where are you based I could alway have a look?

Matt is a nice lad and turned up within a week. The job was to replace to consumer units and having talked the job through he said he could see from the photos that what needed doing and didn't need to visit to scope and price the job. He gave me two options with or without surge protection which I decided to go for. Unfortunately when he arrived he had only brought one board so said he would have to come back a second time. I was disappointed to find that the second board added £100 to the price.
