Having had time for the work carried out to settle, it is apparent that not using engineering bricks and staggering the joint on the top corse was an error, as water is leaking into the garage from the new brick course. Called Mitch to address this by adding a damp course, and was told that I would have to pay a further £200 for Labour and materials. Happy to pay for the materials, but not the Labour to correct a fundamental error. We rely upon professionals to do a profession job and guide the ignorant.
