Drainage Specialist

100%! Seriously, if like me you’ve spent many years thinking you’ve finally found someone who ticks all the boxes, only to be let down over something, then book your work here. Tommy is a great, genuine, honest, hard working guy (as was his mate), and did a superb job for a great price. You can tell that he really cares that the job is done professionally and even takes photos of the stages to prove it. I will use him again without getting other quotes, and recommend him to all my friends.

Drainage Specialist

Tommy did an excellent job, rebuilding the faulty drainage that was causing water to leak into our garage. He extended the drainage to 5 metres from the house to ensure no future issues. His communication was excellent throughout and I was stunned with the tidy job that he did as I don't think you'd be able to notice in a couple of months that a huge trench was dug out of our garden, terrific! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tommy again.

Drainage Specialist

Tommy was always on the end of the phone no matter what time. Came out to me on the day and time arranged and definitely not out to con you as he had a look and turned out the issue wasn’t our drains and he didn’t charge. Very friendly and knowledgeable - took a lot of time out discussing the drainage with me despite not being paid for it. Very happy and thankful to him.

Drainage Specialist

Highly recommended. We are very pleased with Tommy Munn’s work using CCTV & power jetting to investigate & clean the 13 soakaways around our block of flats and garages. A thoroughly professional service at a reasonable price (we were quoted extortionate rates from other suppliers). Blockages have been cleared with drainage very much improved. Cracked pipework located & replaced. Tommy also provided several useful suggestions/observations & a site map. He arrived punctually & left the site clean & tidy.

Fantastic service. Problem resolved within 12 hours or my posting it on Rated People. Tommy provided photographic and video evidence of the work (as I was unable to be there) and charged a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

Should I pay a deposit prior to the work commencing?

Hi Paul Tough one this. It depends on two things in my opinion. 1: The cost of the job, if it's under £1000 the tradesmen should be prepared to have funds to commence works, if they didn't you'd have to question their business. 2: Research, what's there ratings like? Google the company, find out any bad reviews etc.. Although I rarely ask myself, it's quite common to ask for material costs, but do your research first! The quality of my work and customer relations means I rarely have any problems Cheers Paul

I recently had a side and back extension built and decided to pave the back garden by 50%. We have quite a bit if clay in the ground and a soakaway was installed. We have rain water from a rear garage going straight into this soakaway and we have rain water from the pitched roof of the extension also going into the same soakaway crate. We have drainage channels going right across the back of the house for the paving surface water. What we are experiencing now is when it rains heavily there is water under the extension we built and since it has stopped raining heavily the water level under the house has reduced but still there. We never had this problem prior to having this extension built and we had all the surface water from the roof of the old conservatory where the extension is now going straight to a public sewer. So could our problem be caused by: 1. A lot of building material being dumped by the builders into the grounds of our garden causing blockage. 2. The clay ground we have in the back garden (although prior to the extension being built never had a problem, and also currently our next door neighbours who do not have an extension do not have the same problem as us). 3. Soakaway not installed correctly. 4. Soakaway not suitable for clay ground and will make matters worse. 5. Too much pressure put on the garden with all rain surface water going in it from all the rain and surface water. (Prior to the extension the rain water on our old conservatory was going straight into the public sewer. I could get a Civil Engineer to look at it but I think they are very expensive so thought I'd try the forum just in case someone has experienced something similar.

Sorry or No. 3 Soak-away's are now a specialist job that should only be done by a drainage expert. I wouldn't quote to build your extension because i'm a drainage expert.

Hi Ahmed I'd probably go for No 1 on your list mate in my experience . Although its not good to have a soak-away on clay i'm sure your extension wouldn't dramatically change things unless its huge. Cheers TM Drainage Operations
