Reviews of Flooring Specialists

Fulwell and Hampton Hill, TW11

parquet floor installation The subfloor is concrete, the parquet flooring is reclaimed and has had the bitumen removed and long sides cleaned. I am looking for 3 rooms and a hall to have a parquet floor installed, sanded nad varnished. The area is approx 46sqm.
This two man band installed a parquet floor throughout my flat and were very knowledgeable in their area and their quote was very competitive. I was very happy with the standard of work. I would recommend them solid wood floor installs.

I'm not sure
We have found some old solid wood floorboards in our attic which match the rest of the house. We want to lay these in a bedroom that has recently been converted from a bathroom. The subfloor is plywood ontop of wooden joists. The wood has been in our attic for around 8 years and conseqently has suffered a little in terms of not being completely straight. We would like to have the same flooring in the bedroom as the hall and other bedrooms so we would prefer to use this flooring rather than buy new, but it maybe a bit more complicated to install given its age. It is tongue and groove and unfinished so will need sanding and lacquering as well. Room is about 7m2.
Brian did a good job on the floor that we wanted to lay, he also fitted a threshhold for us in our bathroom doorway. He worked all weekend to get the floor fitted as we were on a tight schedule. He was flexible with timings when we had to cancel an appointment at short notice. When I asked him to come back and fix something that was not right, he came straight away the next day to put it right. Am pleased with the way the floor looks.

this is 3 rooms - approx 25/30 square metres in total the boatds have already been sanded, we just woud like them filled and re-done
In summary, a brilliant job. Spent a lot of time on preparing, filling and levelling the floorboards...well worth it when you see the final result. Steve and Jermaine were very reliable, extremely tidy and can be trusted with house keys. We are very pleased with the work done for a very fair price.

Hampton Wick, TW11

Fit a slate floor to a kitchen approx 27m2, and also lay electrical underfloor heating. Job includes removing existing laminate
Vaughan has done a really good job for us, fitting underfloor heating and slate tiles on our conservatory and kitchen floor. He is punctual, professional, diligent and very hard working. He obviously takes pride in his work. At the outset he made a detailed assessment of the work involved and gave a realistic and achievable quote and timetable - the job was done on time and within the quote. Highly recommended.

Floor fitters and carpet layers

Whether you want a beautifully engineered wooden floor or a plush new carpet, a professional flooring contractor will be able to help you out with different options and the installation of your new floor. There are lots of options to choose from; laminates, lino and floor tiles and there are any number of effects you can achieve depending on the type of floor you go for.

Laminate

The laminate boom is well and truly underway as it offers a cheap and stylish alternative to wooden flooring as well as being easier to maintain than a traditional wood floor.

Engineered Wood

Engineered wooden floors offer durability, style and beauty. The wood used has been specially treated so that there is less maintenance required than a regular wooden floor. Because a wooden floor of this quality can last for 100s of years, the initial cost can be quite hefty, but it will be worth the cost if you can afford it as the floor you get will last a lifetime and age wonderfully.

Linoleum

Linoleum is a cheap and practical choice for kitchens, wetrooms and bathrooms. It's also useful if you have children who like to make a mess as it's easy to keep clean and wipe down. It comes in a whole variety of different colours and offers warmth, flexibility and incredible durability.

Floor tiles

Floor tiles are another durable and strong alternative to use in kitchens, bathrooms and hallways.

Carpets

Carpets are easy to maintain and adds warmth, insulation and cosiness to a room.

Flooring specialist and designs

If you’re planning on having any kind of floor fitted in your home then it’s best to call in the services of a flooring specialist rather than trying to do it yourself. Flooring specialists generally have a wide range of experience in fitting floors for different purposes, and know how to get the job done quickly and effectively.

What does a flooring specialist do?

Some flooring specialists work by themselves or as part of a small team, while others work for large flooring contractors. As well as actually fitting floors, they can provide in-depth advice about the pros and cons of different types of surfaces and their suitability for your home.

Flooring contractors may specialise in a few particular types of flooring, while some offer a wide range of flooring services for all areas of the home. Laying carpets in hallways, living rooms and bedrooms are common types of work for a flooring specialist, while many are also skilled in fitting vinyl and other types of floor surfaces for kitchens and bathrooms.

Popular flooring designs

When it comes to choosing what type of floor you want in your home, the choice can be bewildering, but a good flooring specialist will be able to help you make an informed choice.

The type of flooring you choose for each room will usually depend on your living situation. If you have young children then laminate or vinyl flooring is often a good choice as they are far easier to clean, while those who prefer a more traditional look may opt for carpet. Wooden flooring and parquet flooring are popular choices in kitchens, dining rooms and bedrooms, while ceramic tiles and laminates are common types of bathroom flooring.

Replacing a floor is a major job, and really needs the expertise of a professional if you are to get the look you want. So if you need to find a flooring specialist in your area, submit your job today!
