I have a brick plastered kitchen wall (with window) that faces the exterior (the outside). The kitchen wall has no insulation on the inside, just plaster on top of brick. (The exterior, outside of the building, is insulated.) The old kitchen - cabinets, stove, countertop, etc., was installed against this wall. I have removed the old kitchen and there are many stains and a bit of mildew. The wall has a consistent temperature (cold) from top to bottom. I am concerned about moisture and whether I need to take special measures with this wall (options: wet plaster, wall board, insulation, other?). What is the best way to refinish this wall so that I avoid any potential problems of moisture or mold?
