Fastening oak tread cladding to pine stairs

Posted by Wayne Theron, on
I want to be able to replace or repair any oak treads. I want to avoid nails and adhesives. My idea is to use 8 stainless steel wood thread inserts distributed across the underside of the oak treads and use large washers and double bolts on the underside to fasten each tread. What are your thoughts on this idea
