Setting the right budget

How much should you expect to pay?

We know it's difficult to estimate how much a project will cost, that's why we've surveyed our tradesmen to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay for specific jobs. Tradesmen all across the country have contributed to the cost guides, so the costs you see are an approximate national average.

Bi-fold doors

Low High
Bi-fold doors £50 £130

Adding a bi-fold door to your home is a good alternative to solid doors and can help to save space or allow you to have a door opening in a confined area. They can also provide an attractive alternative to sliding patio doors, allowing ventilation to be easily controlled in your home.

In most cases, the bi-fold doors will pivot on a track that sits above and beneath the door and this is one of the major parts of the installation job. Once this is in place then the door or doors will be cut to size and planed to a smooth finish. They can then be fitted to the track with any runners that are required. Your tradesman will test that the doors work and add any extras, such as handles or locks, before tidying up after himself.

Rated People surveyed 83 of our carpenters and joiners across the country to give you an idea of the approximate costs for a range of work on external doors. We also asked about internal doors.

Please note these prices are average, do not include materials and are offered as guidance only, to help you budget when posting a job on Rated People. For a free quote tailored to your specific requirements, please contact our local carpenters and joiners.
