Setting the right budget

How much should you expect to pay?

We know it's difficult to estimate how much a project will cost, that's why we've surveyed our tradesmen to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay for specific jobs. Tradesmen all across the country have contributed to the cost guides, so the costs you see are an approximate national average.

Low High
Doorbell £30 £40

Adding or repairing a doorbell on or near your door can be as simple as adding a battery-operated wireless model or wiring in a bell that works from your mains electricity and chimes in various rooms in the house. Any good builder should be able to assist with a basic doorbell set up, although you will need an electrician to do the job if you want something more complex.

In either case the job should not take long and will be of minimal cost. If your current doorbell is faulty then your tradesman should be able to find the fault and repair it, or simply replace the bell if a repair is not possible.

Rated People surveyed 83 of our carpenters and joiners across the country to give you an idea of the approximate costs for a range of work on external doors. We also asked about internal doors.

Please note these prices are average, do not include materials and are offered as guidance only, to help you budget when posting a job on Rated People. For a free quote tailored to your specific requirements, please contact our local carpenters and joiners.
