Relocate an existing consumer unit or fuse box

Low High
Relocate an existing consumer unit or fuse box £300 £600

You may wish to relocate your existing consumer unit as its location is now impractical or you wish to use the space in your hallway or under the stairs more efficiently. You may also be having decoration, renovation or other work done in the house that makes it a good idea to move the location of the unit.

Relocation of the consumer unit could also be something that you are having done during rewiring or as the result of an electrical installation condition report. Your electrician will need to safely remove your old unit before relocating and connecting the new unit. The relocation of the unit could mean some mess as it will require drilling into your walls to locate the wires that need to go into the unit. Your electrician should tidy this up, but you may need some remedial plastering or decoration work to be done once the new consumer unit is installed.

Rated People surveyed 40 of our electricians across the country to find out how much it costs to carry out a range of electrical work on your home.

Please note these prices are average, do not include materials and are offered as guidance only, to help you budget when posting a job on Rated People. For a free quote tailored to your specific requirements, please contact our local electricians.
