The importance of your profile page

Your profile page is your online CV. It’s the first thing homeowners see when you buy their job leads and their go-to place for getting a feel for you and your business. We email yours to a homeowner each time you buy a job lead. It’s no surprise then that tradespeople with completed profile pages are more likely to win work!

But my ratings are great?

Having a good profile page doesn’t stop with ratings. Homeowners tell us that seeing a picture of you or the tradesperson you’re sending out to do the job is important. That way they can check that the tradesperson on their doorsteps is the one they’ve hired to do their jobs. It’s all about peace of mind and making customers feel comfortable working with you.

I have a suitable profile picture and cover photo

If you’re a business, take a picture of your team for your cover photo and make the profile picture your logo. If you’re a sole trader, it’s even easier. Just take a photo of yourself and upload it for your profile picture and use a photo that’s related to your trade for your cover photo. Remember: photos with visible telephone numbers, emails or URLs are prohibited as we can’t verify their authenticity.

I have a company description that sells myself or my business

Say what you offer, explain what’s important to you and highlight your skills in 255 characters. Is it your quality work and customer service that’s really appealing? It’s your chance to really make an impression.

I’ve uploaded photos of my work

Before and after photos of jobs, or even photos of completed work, can work wonders! Seeing examples of quality work will help instil trust in homeowners that you’re the best person for their jobs.

I’ve uploaded any Part P or Gas Safe certificates

Registration with authoritative or governing bodies like Gas Safe, Part P and TrustMark help give homeowners confidence that you’re certified to carry out their jobs safely. Sharing these will help you demonstrate that you’re a professional. If you’re not a heating engineer or electrician, we recommend registering with TrustMark to get the TrustMark quality badge displayed on your profile page.

We have exciting news coming in January and your profile page will be all the more important. Get ahead of the game by taking half an hour to update yours! Just log in here or click the ‘Public Profile’ tab when viewing your account online.
