Waterproofing a chimney.

Waterproofing a chimney. If I cover the whole chimney with a thick waterproof coating system(e.g. Mariseal 250 or Bondaglass G4 Pond Paint Clear). Will there be a problem for the chimney to breathe even though four chimney pots on top to breathe.
