What sort of trade would I need to ask if an internal wall can be knocked down or if it needs an RSJ etc, as kitchen fitters aren't sure if it can be removed.

Be a little bit careful if it is a structural wall, if you ever sell the property, the buyers solicitor will ask if any structural changes have been made and if so they will probably require confirmation that the work has been passed by Building Control.

Hi bricky or local general builder should know,. for internal wall like partition between two rooms you don`t need building control, but if its loadbearing wall you do structural engineer.

Any good general builder should be able to advise you, however you may need to involve building control and get a structural engineer.
