Cost of a garage conversion

Posted by nick moore, on
We have had another child and I need to extend my house for another bedroom. The cheapest way for me to do this is to convert my garage into a downstairs bedroom. I need to find the right people for the job and I need an approx cost for the job.

Hello, you will need a building team to help you with the converting garage into bedroom but please remember to get a good builder with good knowledge of the work, check the back ground and do you homework before submitting the work. Secondly, always go to your local council office and let them know that you are converting the garage. The cost can not be said, as this forum is to help home owner to sort the problem out. I hope you will understand this. Thank you. Mr.Nish Maroo Best UK Builders-London

Hello we have done a few of these they are quite straightforward you will need a building notice from your local authorty and some plans of what you require, floor levels usually need raising and ,front excavating to expose either ends of existing footings .look for references of trdesmen or better still use Rated Peaple to find a tradesman and check them out.

I would recommend placing an advert withing rated people then you will see 3 different quotes and be able to ask advice from 3 seperate tradesmen who will all have slighty different opinions and you can then choose which one represents the nearest to your ideas. Derek. mccormackroofing.co.uk
