What tradesman would fix sagging floor?

Posted by David Hooper, on
I have an area of my ground floor (tiled in hallway) that is sagging, causing loose/cracking tiles. I suspect underfloor is wooden floorboards that are split or rotten. Nearby flooring is also exposed floorboards so access shouldn't be a problem. I posted my job in the 'Flooring Specialists' and got zero responses, reposted in 'Building' and that also got zero responses. Want to fix before it gets too much worse (it's been like this since moved in two years ago)

David, To fix problem it could be numerous things; 1) Tile on top of floor boards (should be on a solid base) 2) Joists are weakening thus floor moving 3) No ply board base put over Floor Boards 4) And so on To complete the job you would need to lift tiles and see if floor boards loose, if joists moving or if floor boards did not have a ply board base put over them minimum 9mm thick. So, you may need a carpenter and tiler or a form like mine that supply appropriate trades has required after investigation. Bill Pipe Dreams Plumbing Services Bournemouth (Tel; Bournemouth 512121)
