I would like to remove a load bearing wall opening up my dining room and hall in a Victorian terrace. it’s not load bearing in that it runs parallel with the floor joist above, but it’s obviously supporting the wall above.
just wondered what the process should be, contact a structural engineer first to have a look and calculate RSJ, or can a builder handle the whole thing? thus post job on here?
