Tiles on shower wall buckling

Posted by jacinda cole, on
We have tiles on our shower wall that appear to be pushed out from behind just slighty but must be something doing this from behind. perhaps wet gib board behind? or some other issue - any ideas? One tile has now cracked with the force. it is near where the shower tap is.

Bonding plaster contains vermiculite , which expands when exposed to moisture or humidity. Gypsum board does not , it gust decomposes, no expansion.
