Wall removal

Posted by Lorraine Hall, on
I live in a bungalow and want to knock down a wall between the kitchen and dining room. There is no weight in the loft over this wall, so am I right in believing that I can take this down without any problems or building regs?

Hello Lorraine, I wouldn't like to comment that you did or indeed did-not require steel , this would need a site inspection. You would need building regs. When you come to sell your property and that wall is missing from you drawings you will be asked then (how did you comply?) Regards Michael

you will probably need a steel beam across the opening to support the cealing joists if the joists run in line with the wall you will not need a steel beam only if the wall is supporting the joists

What would you like to do now?
