Posted by Steve Rochford, on
I want to replace the ceiling in my kitchen (it's artexed but water has leaked through it from the bathroom above and it's a mess). At the same time I want to get new lighting fitted (probably LED downlighters) Not sure how to categorise the job!

Hello Steve, It would be favourable to advertise the job under (alterations). Due to electrical works being required this work should come under the roof of a builder. Regards Michael

Plastering for the ceiling. Electrician for the lights. Important, it sounds like your ceiling will need over boarding then plaster skimming. However you need your electrician in there as soon as the old ceiling is taken down so he can get the wires in place for the new lights before it is re boarded. Explain this to whoever does the job for you. Cheers, Karl

I would suggest you put ceiling replacement on as a plasterers job and then ask an electrician to complete the lighting David

What would you like to do now?
