Darren, It's more than likely that the silicon mastic between the window case and lintel itself has failed this allowing water to drip inside. The solution is to reseal the mastic as this will make it water tight. As a general rule burnt sand mastic and linseed oil for timber windows and silicon sealent for plastic u.p.v.c.
