Hello Sarah, Post the job on this site with a budget of £100 and you will get sorted. If you have any problems contact us. The service in getting advice/survey is free and you should get 3 tradesmen to quote so you should use it. Tradesmen pay for the opportunity to quote on your job. It is important to give tradesmen contacting you the opportunity to do so, the advice you receive is free. You are not obliged to use any of them. Regards Michael

Generally the process is as follows:- Employ a local architect / technician to draft drawings (make sure building regs are included) Submit drawings to the council They will let you know if planning has been excepted, declined or needs amendments Once work has started they will visit the job to ensure work is being completed to the correct standard Building control will sign of the job once completed You also have the option to use an independent company instead of the council which in my experience is much quicker/smoother process but also more costly.

Hi Sarah, Most experienced and timed served building companies can assistant you with this. By either using this website or contacting local builders you can see what services they provide and if they can assist you in getting started with your project. Our company for example often visit potential clients looking to undertake building work (extensions/ refurbishments etc) but often do not have any plans at this stage, we then offer to provide them with the details of a local architectural design company that we use to do this for them. Once the plans and planning permission if required are in place you can then obtain quotations to undertake the work. Good Luck South Coast Building Solutions Ltd
