Hi David 5 parts ballast to 1 part cement is typical. Depth should be around 125- 175 mm for traffic up to two tonne, sub soil and ground conditions being good. Consider a steel mesh and you should also put in expansion joints in every 4 metres. Hope this helps Mark Surrey Hills Landscaping
