Yeah, makes sense but hatch is a more difficult matter as it doesnt sit on top but in the whole wilth gaps round the edges. We have stuck the foam stuff round to try to minimise the draught but keeps catching and coming off. Hatch is in a really difficult place over the stairs not the landing and is large and hinged at one side, dropping down. Thanks though, any ideas for trying to make this draught free would be appreciated

Hi Lorraine if the door is hinging down it would be best to fit draught seals ( heavy duty type which are pinned in place rather than the tape) on the door stop fitted on the frame. They would be fixed on the side of the stop and seal against the top edge of the door when it's shut. Try Screwfix for the seals. Hope this helps.Ed.
