Who should we contact for wall dampness

Posted by Leyla Alp, on
Our surveyor noticed level of dampness has gone behind the render and has accumulated in the masonry being unable to evaporate through the water proof surface. We need to establish the extent of the problem. I believe this will be involving the removal of part of the render on the outside and plaster on inside. Since the problem seems severe, A specialised builder who has dealt with severe dampness on solid brick construction would we be required. Who shall we contact?

Leyla, Going on the information that you have provided a plasterer is required. Your surveyor should have provided a report and should guide you in the correct direction as that's what you have paid for! If not then contact him again for more advice which he should give to you freely as one of his customers. Dave
