Removal of solid brick wall to open up through lounge

Posted by James Dunn, on
Could someone please give me a rough estimate of how much it would be to remove a solid brick wall to open up 2 downstairs reception rooms into a through lounge? This is for a 2 bed Victorian mid-terrace property.

You would first need a structural engineer to work out the calculations for the r s j ( rolled steel joist ) or beam then you would tell the local building authority you were doing it. Send them a copy of the calcs; this would cost about £250. The building side minus decorations would cost £1000. If you got rid of the debris yourself. Or £1200 if the builder did it JC
