I would think that your cash has long gone.if he needed a deposit and that was six months ago.its hard to imagine him still having it now.i dont ask for deposit if the job requires loads of materials witch i cannot suply i get customer to buy them from any good merchants on the day the job starts.that way your not going to loss money and contractor can start the job
