Cold and moisture

Posted by Gregory Wignall, on
Would insulated plasterboard cure cold in a solid brick extension - no wall cavity 1930s semi? The building has a flat concrete roof and is too hot in Summer and too cold in Winter. The extension is the kitchen and the walls get wet as the moisture laden air condenses on cold walls /ceiling. The walls are tiled and plastered and plaster surface has been ruined with the damp/moisture. Any advice/guidance appreciated. Regards, Greg

Ideally insulated boards with a air cavity would be best, kingspan have technical details on there website for how they recommend fitting. I would also do the ceiling as a concrete roof has a really poor insulation capacity. I would say you need some ventilation as well to clear the moisture
