Lumpy Floor

Posted by Mike Ixer, on
I want to lay a laminate floor in my dining room but, according to the structural report, there is a slight case of sulphate attack. The single lump is about 2ft by 2ft. Is this a job for a builder to remove?

Not necessarily, you could just cut out the 2" square and investigate. Put it back with the same material( except the shale) as you have taken out. I doubt if there is a membrane ( plastic sheeting ) under it as they weren't used at the time, but if there is try and patch it as you go JC
