I would like some general advice before I post a job. I am looking at replacing two existing wooden horizontal joists with rsj's or similar. In addition I want a small section of internal wall removing and an existing internal wall extending, this would move space from the hall into the living room. What I need to know is would this require building reg approval. If so what does this actually entail. Furthermore would a builder undertake the application for the bldg regs or would I be expected to do this?. Thanks for your time.
