Any competent builder should cope with this Hilary. Best get him to do a number of sample areas first to get the colour right. In this case I would think the older he is the better he would know about using lime mortar. JC

I have a converted barn, old bricks which needs repointing with lime mortar and some bricks replacing. How do I find a reputable local tradesman.
