Poured concrete or slab base for bike shed?

Posted by Nicholas Stavrakakis, on
Hello, I am preparing our front yard for a new bike storage shed which needs a solid base. I was going down the concrete slab route, but I was wondering if using concrete paving slabs on a cement/sand base would be as solid? It sounds easier to me. The base dimensions are 1150x2450mm and 50mm thick. Thank you Nico

Yes in my opinion your best with sand and cement just before you bed down your slabs use half bag dri cement, also if you need to rip it up its a lot easier to clear

Hi Nicholas as long as the slabs are properly laid they should be fine as a base for the shed, although they will not be suitable if you need to bolt the shed done as they are prone to breaking. Ed
