Can stone cladding be removed from exterior brickwork?

We are interested in buying a period end of terrace house in East London but it is covered in stone cladding, which we would want to remove completely.
What would be a realistic estimate to do this, and if brickwork was damaged beneath what would need doing to this to rectify?
