Hi Tanya rafters, purlins and ceiling binders are all structural and should not be cut unless they are properly supported. Get a carpenter to come and take a look at it. Ed

To find out whether I need to replace a roof beam. The previous owner has cut a chunk out and I'm not sure if it is structural/needs to be replaced.
