I have a semi detached house (living room, kitchen/diner, Hallway, 3 bed and bathroom). On the side that isn't attached to my neighbours, I have car port aprox 3meters wide 6 meters length. The car port also attaches itself to an external garage which contains a utility room too (the garage is pretty big). So think of it as a house and garage joined by a carport.
Where the carport is I want to make this into a room (joining the house and garage). As I said this space is around 3x6 meters. I want to make into a room to add more space onto the house and also the current carport is a wind trap as we back onto fields. Its a nightmare!
In terms of space, the carport is over 2m away from any boundary and we have a 8 meter driveway at the front of the house so its away from any highway.
With the height of the extension, the current carport roof height is 3.1M and we would want to take that to 4M height.
So My question is, would I need planning for this single story extension?
Any advice would be much appreciated
