I'm looking to do a big extension on my house and know that I need planning permission but do I need architects etc.

Hi Lindsey In most cases you will need to submit detailed plans that the planning officers will accept and can understand and that the builder can follow precisely. if you feel confident that you can produce accurate C A D plans ok. if not then an industry professional can save you time and money by liaising with planning officers and speaking their lingo along with producing the plans Regards Steve Beale
