Building control and regulations

Mark. The difference is that Building regulations are the set of standards that all construction work has to conform to and Building control are the department of your local council who oversee and enforce these regulations. When you apply for planning permission you will normally be assigned a pBuilding control officer who will call on site at various stages of the build, critically to check foundations, drainage, damp proofing, insulation and load bearing members.
