Wet bricks at front of house

Posted by sharon forrester, on
We have a strip of wet bricks below the dampcourse at the front of our house. There is a downstairs toilet directly to the right of the where the problem is. House is 20 years old, not sure it there is a pipe leaking or something else? Not sure who is best to call first, a plumber or a builder?

Hi Sharon Bricks can be damp below the damp course as they are in constant contact with the wet ground around them, it depends how damp you mean as in very wet or just damp as to whether it's a problem or not. A builder would be able to help you with this, alternatively dig down the side of the bricks and see if the ground is very wet there compared to another area and if it is then you have something to go further with
