Contact building control at your council and ask them for permission first . Or you could just go a head and get a local builder that would do the work for you
Unfinished loft area on same floor as flat

I live in a top floor flat of a Victorian Detached house that has a very large unfinished loft type space on the same floor that was never converted. I would like to have it finished, but I'm not sure who to contact. i tried a loft conversion company, but they wouldn't do it because it doesn't need a staircase(?). Can anyone advise where to start?
