Some quote is simple, others take hours to make it. Put material list together, different tradesman involved : Complet extension. Small job no fee normally BIg job 50/50 to likely Very big job 1-2% fee at final value.

I've asked a tradesman to quote on a job, but there's a quotation fee if we decide not to use him? Is this normal procedure? Thanks

Hi Clare, Tradespeople registered with us operate as independent companies so if this tradesperson told you about the quotation fee before quoting then that's fine. If however, you were told about the quotation fee after he/she had already quoted, then you would not be obliged to pay that fee. I hope this helps.
