Removal of stone structures and mantlepiece from Living Room

I have a mantlepiece frame that i would like to remove and also two rectangular shaped brick/stone like structures either side of the mantlepiece (i think for decorational purposes) that i would like removed. Purpose is to expand hte living room space.
