Advice on wall knock through

Posted by Caroline Moss, on
I have got an engineer in and have got drawings for removal of a structural wall. We're now ready to go to building control. Is this also the time to start getting quotes for the work? Would we need anything else to get quotations? We are also hoping to get rewiring done at the same time and already have some quotes for this as a separate job. Would it make sense to get one builder to quote for the knock through and electrical work? What would be a rough cost to remove a 4m load-bearing wall and put in an RSJ?

Hello Mrs moss you would be looking at around 3k to do the knockthrough depending on finishing work needed like plastering, as for having two separate contractors complete the works there is no problem doing it this way but I can normally save customers money by doing all the work within one company
