If you're at all concerned about this tradesperson, I would encourage you to ask for previous references and ask to see their previous work (more advice at: ratedpeople(dot)com/c/homeowner-checklist). If you're still not convinced after this, I wouldn't hire this tradesperson and give a second or third tradesperson a chance.
