There are numerous ways you can point a patio. You can do it with sand and cement (4:1 or 3:1 mix) but can lead to possible staining on the flags. Another way which I use is a product called geofix which can be bought from any builders merchants. Comes in a powder form and you brush it in to the joints and let it go off for two to three hours. Then it's all done.

Hi, the best mix is a 3 building sand and 1 cement mix. the mix must be quite dry in order for the cement not to bleed into the slabs and create staining. you can make the mix as normal with plasticiser then let it stiffen in the bucket and use it just before it starts setting. Either way will give best results. its the way i do it and it is always perfect. also their are sweep in and joint up products pre mixed you can buy. these are a lot more expensive and in my use of them i found they shrink over time leaving gaps for insects and dirt. Hope this helps. Regards sjh
